Service Description

DATES: Feb 16th or Feb 23rd Class Length: 1 day for 2hrs **We will have more sessions in March to be posted on Feb 16th.** Requirement Information: Scouts can complete requirements 4 and 5 during the session. Scouts will complete requirements 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 after the session. You will have to complete some requirements after the session with a three-month deadline to submit. Please be ready to discuss requirements 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, and 10. A former University President teaches this merit badge, and the focus of the Citizenship in Society merit badge is to provide you with information on diversity, equity, inclusion, and ethical leadership. You’ll learn why these qualities are important in society and in Scouting, as well as how to help other people at all times and serve as a leader and an upstander. Research the terms below and have an understanding of what they mean before the merit badge session. 1. Before beginning work on other requirements for this merit badge: a. Research the following terms - Identities - Inclusion - Diversity - Discrimination - Equity - Ethical Leadership - Equality - Upstander Requirements #4, #5, & #9 will be completed during the session in Breakout Rooms. Be prepared to discuss Requirements #2, #6, #7, & #10. You will need to work on these requirements before the session. IMPORTANT: Prior to registering, the Scout should have a discussion with their unit leader to obtain approval to participate Blue Card: Upon completion of the course, the Scout will be issued a digital blue card signed by our merit badge counselor. Scouts will need to submit all requirements to receive a blue card.

Cancellation Policy

**Merit Badge Session Policies** To ensure compliance with updated guidelines and maintain the interactive and engaging nature of our merit badge sessions, the following policies will be implemented: 1. Camera-On Policy **Camera Requirement**: - All Scouts must have their cameras on during the entire merit badge session. **No Exceptions**: - If a Scout does not have their camera on or does not have access to a functioning camera, they will not be allowed to participate in the session. **Rescheduling and Fees**: - Parents/guardians will be responsible for rebooking and paying for a new session if their Scout is unable to comply with the camera-on requirement. **Purpose**: - This policy is designed to ensure Scouts actively participate in discussions and meet the interactive standards required for merit badge completion. 2. Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy **Rescheduling or Cancelling a Session**: - To reschedule or cancel a scheduled merit badge, please make sure to do so at least 4 days in advance by using the login section on the website in the top right or the app provided at this link: http://wix.to/38CABtM?ref=cl **Late Cancellations**: - Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 4 days before the session will not be accommodated, and you will be responsible for rebooking and paying for a new session.
