Service Description

DATES: Dec 21st Class Length: 1 day for 2hrs **We will have more sessions to be posted on the 16th of each month** Requirement Information: Scouts will complete requirement 1, 3, 6C, 6D, 6F, 7A, 7C, 7E, 7F, and 7G during the session. Scouts will complete requirements 2, 5, 7B, 7D, 7H, 8, 9, and 10 before or after the session. Scouts will complete requirement 4 after the session. ***THERE ARE NO PREREQUISITES*** Learn about caring for your dog & a variety of breeds. NOTE: After the class is finished, you will still need to complete the requirements below to earn the merit badge. • Requirement #4: For two months, keep and care for your dog.* Maintain a log of your activities during this period that includes these items: feeding schedule, types of food used, amount fed, exercise periods, training schedule, a weekly body weight record, grooming and bathing schedules, veterinary care, if necessary, and costs. Also, include a brief description of the type of housing/shelter arrangements you have for your dog. o Submit by: Filling out the Dog Care Merit Badge worksheet or your own downloaded calendar file. • Requirement #5: Show with your dog any three of these commands: "come", "sit", "down", "heel", "stay", "fetch" or "get it", and "drop it". o Submit by: Filling out the Dog Care Merit Badge and sending video evidence of completion • Requirement #7: b) Show how to put on an emergency muzzle. d) Show how to put on a simple dressing and bandage the foot, body, or head of your dog. o Submit by: Filling out the Dog Care Merit Badge and sending video evidence of completion for both 7b and 7d • Requirement #9: Know the laws and ordinances involving dogs that are in force in your community. o Submit by: Filling out the Dog Care Merit Badge worksheet or Word document file. Send completed work and worksheet to: info@meritbadgecourses.com IMPORTANT: Prior to registering, the Scout should have a discussion with their unit leader to: 1) obtain approval to participate in the course and 2) confirm their unit leader will sign the blue card upon course completion. Blue Card: Upon completion of the course, the Scout will be issued a digital blue card signed by our merit badge counselor. Scouts will need to submit all requirements to receive a blue card.

Cancellation Policy

**Merit Badge Session Policies** To ensure compliance with updated guidelines and maintain the interactive and engaging nature of our merit badge sessions, the following policies will be implemented: 1. Camera-On Policy **Camera Requirement**: - All Scouts must have their cameras on during the entire merit badge session. **No Exceptions**: - If a Scout does not have their camera on or does not have access to a functioning camera, they will not be allowed to participate in the session. **Rescheduling and Fees**: - Parents/guardians will be responsible for rebooking and paying for a new session if their Scout is unable to comply with the camera-on requirement. **Purpose**: - This policy is designed to ensure Scouts actively participate in discussions and meet the interactive standards required for merit badge completion. 2. Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy **Rescheduling or Cancelling a Session**: - To reschedule or cancel a scheduled merit badge session, you must do so at least *4 days in advance* using the app provided at this link: [http://wix.to/38CABtM?ref=cl](http://wix.to/38CABtM?ref=cl). **Late Cancellations**: - Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 4 days before the session will not be accommodated, and you will be responsible for rebooking and paying for a new session.
