DATES: Jan 5th or Jan 19th Class Length: 1 day for 2hrs We will have more sessions in Feb to be posted on Jan 16th. THERE ARE NO PREREQUISITES Requirement Information: Scouts can complete requirements 1, 2, 6a, and 7 during the session. Scouts will complete requirements 3, 4, and 5 after the session. Requirement #3: Track your chores for 90 days. - Do Not Complete this before the merit badge session. Any submissions sent earlier than 90 days after your scheduled class will not be accepted as the work was started before the scheduled class. Requirement #4: With the approval of your parents or guardians and your merit badge counselor, decide on and carry out a project that you would do around the home that would benefit your family. Submit a report to your merit badge counselor outlining how the project benefited your family - Do Not Complete this before the merit badge session. You need approval from the counselor. Requirement #6a: Discuss with your merit badge counselor how to plan and carry out a family meeting. - Do Not Complete this before the merit badge session. You need to talk with the merit badge counselor before the meeting. IMPORTANT: Prior to registering, the Scout should have a discussion with their unit leader to obtain approval to participate. *Please note that this class on Zoom is designed to prepare you and provide you with the necessary information for completing all requirements for the Family Life Merit Badge. As such, attending the scheduled class on Zoom is necessary before work on any requirements has been started. All work completed before the class will be disregarded. For example, requirement 3 for the Family Life Merit Badge states that you must “Track your chores for 90 days.” Therefore, any submissions sent earlier than 90 days after your scheduled class will not be accepted as the work was started before the scheduled class. Blue Card: Upon completion of the course, Scouts have six months to complete and submit the remainder of the requirements to the online classroom after the session. Once all requirements are marked as complete, we will issue a digital blue card signed by our merit badge counselor.
